The call for a sovereign EU digital future has never been louder. As global tensions rise and dependence on foreign tech giants becomes riskier, a bold vision is emerging—EuroStack digital sovereignty strategy—one RedDog Transformation (RDT) is not only aligned with but actively supporting.

A United Call for EU Sovereignty

A coalition of over 80 EU tech organisations—including Airbus, OVHCloud, Murena, Proton, and Nextcloud—has urged the European Commission to take decisive steps in reducing the EU’s reliance on foreign-owned digital infrastructure. Their open letter calls for public support to accelerate the development and adoption of EU-led solutions across the full digital stack: from AI models and cloud platforms to chips and connectivity.

This initiative, dubbed the EuroStack, reflects values that have shaped RDT since its inception: openness, ethical design, transparency, knowledge sharing, and human-centricity. At a time when digital systems are rapidly reshaping how societies function, we believe these values must define the infrastructure they run on.

RDT’s EuroStack Commitment

At RDT, we don’t just support the EuroStack—we embody its principles. As some key international players refrain from signing global ethical AI agreements, the EU has a unique opportunity to lead. This leadership cannot rely solely on policy; it needs action from companies that live these principles.

We are proud to contribute by:

  • Promoting ethical, inclusive, and human-centred AI
  • Building open-source, secure, and modular systems
  • Sharing our Network Capability Model, where each expert brings access to a collective intelligence ecosystem
  • Advocating for local solutions in public procurement, grounded in EU values and resilience

Through our Digital Awareness Ecosystem approach, we empower organisations to integrate technology not as a burden—but as a natural extension of their culture and operations. We believe digital transformation begins with people and knowledge, not just tools.

A Changing Global Landscape

Recent events highlight the importance of the EU's role in shaping a transparent and accountable digital future. At the recent global AI summit in Paris, a joint declaration promoting an "open", "inclusive", and "ethical" approach to AI was signed by countries including France, China, and India. However, both the UK and US declined to sign—citing concerns about national security and global governance.

Their absence underscores a widening divide in global digital governance. The EU now has an opportunity to fill this gap with leadership rooted in ethical and democratic values.

This isn’t about rivalry—it’s about values. And values need to be built into the systems we rely on every day.

Building the Future—Together

The EuroStack vision is not about turning inward. It's about building an interoperable, transparent, and community-powered foundation for the digital age. It’s about shifting from a patchwork of proprietary services to a shared ecosystem that respects data sovereignty, decentralisation, and collective intelligence.

At RDT, we are ready. We are engaging in partnerships and initiatives that align with this transformation and are committed to making our expertise available to projects that share these goals.

Let’s create a future where the EU doesn’t just adopt technology—it leads in how it is designed, governed, and shared.
